International Womens Day

International Womens Day

Couldn’t let International Women’s Day go by without some sort if wellbeing event.

Annalice and I were invited to The Liberty Event in Boroughbridge run by the gorgeous ladies at Divine Mind.

A wonderful day surrounded by people who do all kinds of amazing things to truly support people with their self care.

Not least me! Boy, I needed some self care on Friday evening. I drove down to North Yorkshire with my husband in tow. He was tasked to deliver WOW!2025 flyers through all the letterboxes in the village. I opened the boot of the car to get our cases and realised I hadn’t packed our marketing banners! OMG! I thought he’d put them in the car, and, because he’s not a mind reader, he had no clue what I was talking about. Holy hell!

So a one and a half hour journey turned into a 5 hour epic trip back home for me, and back to Yorkshire, with missing banners. So to say I was furious with myself is quite an understatement.

Fortunately, I’ve discovered Audible, and could at least listen to an excellent book (Karen Crear’s, Playing with Fire is a true story of a man who scammed a family, even had a baby with Karen’s sister! It’s excellent, and I’m in conversation with them about my domestic abuse work!)

A beautiful meal and a couple of glasses of wine finished the day nicely though! I certainly slept well after all that driving.

The Divine Mind event was gorgeous. You’ll recognise some of the ladies who were there…

Lisa Picken from Hummingbird Nutrition, Ellen Hetherington with her breathwork, Silvia Sutherland who is a wonderful therapist and firewalker, and Edwina Forshaw-Gumbrill from Sound Therapy N.E.

I wrote a blog about Edwina and her magical work, back in November – https://womenonlywellness.com/sound-therapy-north-east-in-gosforth

We had a wonderful day of talks, classes, workshops, ending with an evening cacao ceremony, outside around a firepit.

Its wonderful to see how more and more wellbeing events are being organised. I like to think we are trailblazers for this. WOW! has become such a wonderful experience for many, and we are constantly asked for help and support in creating new events all

over the place. It’s a joy to see how people are embracing self care as essential for everyone.

And all the proceeds for last weekend will be going to Unicef.
